Did you know the festive season is one of the loneliest times of the year? As Tony’s* story highlights, rising housing costs and the battle to meet the costs is one of the biggest financial burdens facing many today, especially pensioners. It is estimated 92% of those who are homeless have temporary roof – sleeping in cars, over-crowded refuges, hostels, or couch surfing with family or friends – but not a permanent home.
In this edition we start remembering and celebrating 30 years of Rosies. We hear from Theresa, an original Rosies team member and Life Member, as she recalls the early years of the ministry.
We also hear from Vacen as she once more led the Rosies team at Schoolies. Students also shared their views on Rosies. In this edition Oliver and Hannah tells us about Rosies.
Last but not least, we bring you the latest news from our 11 branches across Queensland.
Don’t forget to read about our volunteer and friend’s stories. While you’re at it, why not print out a copy to leave in the lunch room?
