Rosies Oblate Chaplains
Walking alongside our volunteers, sharing one mission
At Rosies we believe in the power of friendship, presence and belonging. Our roots go back to the mission and charism of the Oblates of Mary Immaculate, an order of the Catholic Church founded by Eugene de Mazenod in 1816, built on the vision of walking with those who are abandoned or overlooked.
In that spirit, Rosies has been supported by a succession of Oblate chaplains who provide spiritual accompaniment, pastoral care and practical support for our volunteers and outreach work. Whether you are a longtime volunteer, a new member of the team or simply want to understand how we are supported behind the scenes, this page explains the role of our chaplains, our ongoing connection with the Oblates, and how you can access support if you need it.

The Oblates of Mary Immaculate arrived in Australia in 1894 and have continuously served across many contexts of need. Their missionary approach emphasises compassion, presence and dignity for all people. Rosies Queensland was born out of this same heart: what began as a Schoolies Week outreach soon grew into a statewide network of volunteers offering friendship and hope.
Through our chaplains, Rosies remains deeply anchored in this Oblate tradition of accompaniment. Our chaplains are available to listen, support and pray with volunteers and staff, helping to build a strong foundation of spiritual, emotional and community care.
Fr Joshua Nash OMI
Fr Joshua Nash OMI brings energy, joy and deep commitment to his role with Rosies. A member of the Oblates, Fr Josh was ordained in 2022 and soon recognised that “mission fields are not geographical – they are existential.” He has a background in youth ministry and a heart for walking alongside people in their everyday lives.
