Broncos announce 2023 charity partners
The Brisbane Broncos have announced their 12 new Charity Partners for 2023, alongside long-time partner Firstmac, who have become the Official Supporter of the much-loved Charity Partner Program.
This year, the club is excited to welcome two new charities in Orange Sky and Meals on Wheels Queensland, who joined club staff and players at the Broncos Red Hill headquarters on Tuesday.
Operating under the Firstmac banner, the expanded partnership with loans.com.au will see increased fundraising support, player appearances, tickets, merchandise and other community activations for the selected charities in the program each year.
Since 1990, the program has backed more than 100 charities, raising much needed awareness, support and almost $2.5m dollars through the 50-50 Charity Raffle at Suncorp Stadium every gameday.
The Broncos and 50-50 Charity Raffle celebrate 10 years together in season 2023, with loans.com.au staff set to also get involved, with the opportunity to volunteer also part of the new Charity Program support.
Broncos CEO Dave Donaghy said it’s a natural fit for one of the club’s most loyal partners.
“Firstmac and loans.com.au are like family to us, having been on our sleeve and partners for more than a decade. They’ve always been big supporters of the community through their own avenues and I can’t think of anyone better to team up with us, to help give more Queenslanders a helping hand,” Donaghy said.
“Giving back and supporting those who support the club has always been part of our DNA, it’s what being a Bronco is all about.
“The more awareness and importantly funds we can raise together for these incredible groups who work so tirelessly, the better – it’s about using our brand and profile to make connections that truly matter.
“Sometimes it can be just one small interaction with the club or one of our players or staff that can make all the difference to someone’s day, and that’s not lost on any of us here.
“I thank Firstmac for continuing to build on their journey with us because our work in this space will never be done.”
Managing Director of loans.com.au Marie Mortimer said: “We’ve always been in awe of the work the Broncos do through their Community Programs and it’s exciting to be stepping up our partnership to share that passion for providing positive outcomes for Queenslanders, which is something we strive to do every day for our customers.
“We’ve always been about being helping people and that is at the heart of the Brisbane Broncos Charity Partner Program.
“The sky’s the limit on what can be achieved together and we look forward to many more exciting opportunities to get involved and hands-on in our support.”
