Our People: Wynnum Manly Branch Coordinator Bruce Corrie
Our people is what makes Rosies so special – every volunteer plays such a large part in making sure that all those who attend outreach feel welcome and safe.
There are those who work behind the scenes to ensure that everything runs smoothly, that the hub and van are well stocked and that our patrons are happy. Our Branch Coordinators are always up to something; picking up donations from local businesses, presenting at schools or searching for ways to offer more on outreach and without their tireless efforts there would be no Rosies.
Bruce is our Branch Coordinator at Wynnum Manly and has been volunteering since 2016. In his own words Bruce’s favourite thing about Rosies is: “I enjoy meeting our patrons with a friendly smile and sharing a chat over a bite to eat and a cuppa. It’s a simple act but something to look forward to every time I outreach.”
Even though being a Branch Coordinator can be challenging it is also very rewarding. On his experience as Branch Coordinator at Wynnum Manly Bruce had this to say, “Working together as a team with wonderful volunteers who are passionate and committed to ensure that every patron is treated with respect and enjoys their time with us on outreach is the best part about being a branch coordinator.”
We are so grateful for Bruce and for all of our volunteers Queensland wide.
