Mt Maria College helps the Rosies community
Dating back to 1987, Rosies has a long history of engaging with youth. As a youth ministry, we have made a commitment to increasing awareness of and education around homelessness, and how in turn, that can exacerbate a need for connection and belonging. We have over 60 schools across Queensland that join us on a volunteer street outreach, but on top of that, we are so lucky to have hundreds of schools who support Rosies by donating items and funds to support our friends on the street.
Recently, Mt Maria College in Brisbane ran a huge donation drive to support Rosies. The school community came together to collect over 200 much needed items – including hygiene products, noodles, muesli bars, biscuits and some yummy chocolates and marshmallows!!
Here you can see some of the senior students involved with organising the donation drive. We visited Mt Maria College to collect the donations and chat to the students on assembly about who and where the items they were donating, would go to support.
We could not be more grateful to the Mt Maria College community and to all schools and organisations who support Rosies around the sunshine state!
