At Rosies, we love celebrating birthdays, be that the birthdays of our friends on the street, our volunteers, our supporters and even each of our branches! Birthdays are a day of gifts – including love, friendship, enjoyment and sometimes something a bit extra special!

Recently in Cairns, our volunteers and friends celebrated two birthdays that we really wanted to share with you.

Happy birthday Phil!

Everyone knows Phil! Cairns Sunday night Team C: Lisa, Carrie and their team of volunteers made the night special for Phil. He was surprised and very appreciative of the fact that he was thought of! We love our patrons and love to make them feel happy, especially on their birthdays. Thank you, Mary McKenna, for reminding me of this special occasion!

Happy birthday Talisha!

Luke and his kids showed up at the outreach on Thursday night. It was so good to catch up with them again. I hadn’t seen them for a long while, because Luke and the children had faced a huge challenge in their lives. Talisha came up to me and gave me a big hug! It was so nice to see her again.

The Lord has blessed, and Luke is in a very good place now and so are the kids. I asked Luke what brought him to Rosies that night. His reply was very heartwarming, he said, ‘When I asked Talisha, (his 9 year old daughter) where she wanted to go for dinner for her birthday, she said, Rosies!’

Wow, that brought tears to my eyes!
