Keep friendship alive for generations to come
A gift in your Will to Rosies – Friends on the Street is one of the most meaningful ways you can make a difference. Your generosity will ensure that friendship, connection, and care remain on our streets for generations to come.
Every day, our volunteers extend the hand of friendship to those who are struggling—offering a warm drink, a listening ear, and a sense of belonging.
By including Rosies in your Will, you ensure that:
Your kindness today can become Friendship That Lasts.
After more than a decade volunteering with Rosies, Mike and Linda retired to be closer to family—but they wanted their connection to Rosies to continue.
“Rosies was an important experience for us. By leaving a gift in our Will, we can make sure Rosies lasts into the future or even helps build a new branch where it’s needed most.” – Mike
“We’ve seen firsthand what Rosies can do. It was easy to leave a gift. Rosies provides practical support and presence, and we want that to continue for a long time.” – Linda
Leaving a gift in your Will ensures Rosies can keep providing friendship and support where it’s needed most—just like Mike and Linda’s gift will.
Every gift, large or small, helps us provide:

I already have a will, do I need to make a new one?
Your will sets out your wishes at a specific point in time. As your circumstances change, it’s important to review it to ensure it reflects your current intentions. If your will is largely accurate but requires a few minor updates, your solicitor can help you prepare a codicil (a legal document that makes minor changes or additions to an existing will, without replacing the whole will). Always seek legal advice to ensure any changes do not compromise your original will.
Can I leave property or personal items to Rosies in my will?
We welcome gifts of personal property, including jewellery, real estate or artwork, provided you give us permission to sell them so the proceeds can support our services.
What are the most common ways to leave a gift in my will?
The most common ways to leave a gift in your will are:
Keep your will safe
Your will is a vital document that sets out your wishes. It is common to keep the original with your lawyer, with a backup stored in a secure location, making sure your Executor knows where to find the original.
Keep your will up to date
Reviewing your will regularly and after major life events (marriage, divorce, buying a home, the birth of a child or grandchild) helps ensure it remains up to date.
Any changes must be made by creating a codicil or drafting a new will. Altering the will yourself may not be legally valid and could put your entire will at risk.
How do I make sure my will is legally valid?
Your will must be in writing, signed by you, and witnessed by at least two people who are not beneficiaries. Your solicitor can help ensure it meets all legal requirements.
